PATTAYA, Thailand – Terminal 21 Pattaya listed Oct. 25 as the final day of its 2026 Food Fun Fest, advertising a food festival at the shopping center’s Runway area. The organizer’s announcement set out two rounds: Sept. 29-Oct. 8 and Oct. 10-25.
The mall promoted “popular vendors, local favorites, and food trucks” in one place and described the event as an outing for family and friends. The published schedule covered two stretches across September and October, with Oct. 9 outside the stated dates.
Food Fun Fest’s advertised Runway location is separate from Pier 21, the mall’s indoor food court. Terminal 21’s official floor guide identifies the third-floor San Francisco area as a food-court and restaurant level. The August reporting and photographs included here document Pier 21, not Food Fun Fest.
An Aug. 15 report published by Thai Life Chronicles documented customers loading stored-value cards, studying menus, ordering meals and finding tables at Pier 21. Vendors scanned the cards rather than taking individual cash payments. Behind the counters, workers prepared bowls, rice dishes and fried food, while other employees cleaned the dining area and managed returned trays.
The report described some customers carrying shopping bags, while others went directly to the card counter and stalls. Diners could choose among several vendors without leaving the indoor food court.
A shopper identified as Siriwan in the August story described fitting a meal around a shopping trip. “After shopping, or before shopping, you can get some lunch there, dinner there,” she said.
A 2023 study of international tourists and Thai street food found positive associations between food quality, perceptions of reasonable prices and repurchase intentions. The researchers considered cultural experience, staff service, physical environment and menus among food-quality attributes. The study concerned Thai street food generally, not Pier 21 or Food Fun Fest.
In a June 10 tourism update at Thailand Travel Mart Plus in Pattaya, the Tourism Authority of Thailand identified gastronomy as a defining strength reflecting local culture and regional identity. The agency linked Thailand’s tourism direction to food, wellness, meaningful travel and sustainability.
