My name is Joshua Alvarado, and I’m an independent content creator, storyteller, and graduate student currently based in Thailand. These days, my work centers around creating digital content about life in Thailand, travel, culture, and the everyday realities of living overseas. I’ve built my platforms around showing people a more direct, honest, and personal view of what life here actually looks like, beyond the polished travel version most people are used to seeing.
Before moving into content creation full time, I served in the United States Army. That chapter of my life gave me discipline, adaptability, and a pretty strong ability to work under pressure—things that still carry over into the way I create, write, and produce today. After my military career, I shifted into media and content creation, where I found the best way to combine storytelling, production, and my own perspective on the world around me.

My educational background is in film and media production. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography, which helped me build a strong foundation in visual storytelling, editing, production, and communication. I am currently seeking my Master of Arts in New Media Journalism at Full Sail University, where I am continuing to strengthen my skills in reporting, research, writing, and digital publishing. My goal is to bring together strong journalistic fundamentals with a background in video production and online media.

Outside of work and school, I’m originally from Chicago and now spend my time living in Thailand, filming, writing, exploring, and building the next chapter of my media work. I enjoy documenting daily life, covering local experiences, and creating content that feels real, personal, and grounded instead of overly polished or corporate. At the end of the day, I’m most interested in telling stories that connect with people in a straightforward and memorable way.
