One night in Bangkok: an embassy appointment, jewelry shopping with Siriwan, tabletop barbecue, and a hotel breakfast worth getting out of bed for.

The reason for this trip was personal. Following Amii’s passing, I needed documents notarized at the U.S. Embassy for DEERS. Siriwan joined me, and we made an overnight trip out of it.
We stayed at The Quarter Phloen Chit by UHG and visited Jewelry Trade Center Thailand, where I bought Siriwan a 1.11-carat lab-grown diamond for US$200—and picked up a 7.2-carat lab-grown ruby for myself for US$180. Apparently, taking her jewelry shopping meant I needed something too.
Then came barbecue, a morning workout, and waffles. Necessary paperwork with a little Bangkok life around it.
Both stones were lab-grown. The prices above were for the stones, not completed rings.
