Most people think Thailand is all beaches, cheap food, and picture-perfect sunsets. And yeah… that’s part of it. But there’s a whole other side of this place that doesn’t show up in travel guides—and that’s exactly why I’m starting this blog.
My name is Josh. I’m a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant from Chicago, and I’ve been living in Thailand for the past five years. What started as a break from the grind turned into a completely different life—one that most people only see through filtered videos or surface-level advice.
This blog is about the side of Thailand people are curious about—but don’t always get the truth on.
I spend a lot of time in the nightlife and entertainment districts, and I’ve seen firsthand how things actually work in those environments. Not the fantasy version, not the horror stories—just the reality. The culture, the interactions, the mistakes people make, and what you learn when you spend enough time in it.
There’s a lot of misinformation out there. Some of it’s harmless. Some of it costs people time, money, and bad experiences.
What I’m aiming to do here is cut through that nonsense.
If you want a more brutality honest takes on nightlife in Pattaya—beyond the usual tourist content—this is where I’ll be sharing it. No sugarcoating, no pretending, just real experiences and perspective from someone living it.
